Design Rooted in Sustainability

Organica Studio + conveys a deep philosophy of sustainability through the work we carry out. We believe that design should incorporate the core values of social, economic, and ecological responsibility. Whether designing an object, a space, or a building, our goal is to create holistic spaces that are thoughtful, elegant, and reduce negative environmental impact through skillful and sensitive design.

We strive to be innovative in the design field by encouraging new and emerging ideas in collaboration with technology. Our approach to design involves looking at each project as a unique entity within a larger context; Regionalism. Using the existing context and region as a foundation, we approach each project with an appropriate skill that responds to its distinct opportunities and challenges.

Focus on High Quality Design + Service Delivery

Our focus on high quality design and service delivery are a result of collaboration between the Client, Designer, and Builder.
From design inception through to project completion, communication and coordination are essential to the success of a project.

Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Building information modeling (BIM) is changing the design profession and construction industry. It is an intelligent 3D model-based process that allows Design Professionals with the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and their infrastructure. This knowledge is shared among the Design Team to facilitate decision making from the planning stage, through to the development of the design, to construction of the project.

This tool also allows our clients to better understand designs by allowing us to generate 3D perspectives of both interior and exterior environments. Establishing expectations from the onset of a project ensures that both client and Designer have a mutual understanding and agreement of what design is generated and built. Our firm’s use of BIM offers our clients enhanced visualization, coordination, and reduced construction costs.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is transforming the ways we think about spaces, buildings and communities. From the manner in which they are planned, constructed, maintained and operated, LEED has changed how we look at the built environment.

LEED works for all spaces and buildings from homes, interior build-outs, commercial buildings, to all phases of development. Projects pursuing LEED certification can earn points through prescribed areas that address sustainability. LEED certified buildings are resource efficient and reduce operating costs. They use less water, energy, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

As a segment of LEED, OS+ also provides WELL building standards, which focuses on seven concepts relevant to occupant health in the built environment – air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind.

Organica Studio + has in-house LEED accredited professionals with the Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), the independent organization that recognizes green building practices and performances. Our staff can aid you in becoming familiar with the LEED system, its process, and benefit relating to your project.

“It is in the nature of any organic building to grow from within on its site; come out of the ground an organism into the light – the ground itself held always as a component part of the building itself…a building dignified as a tree in the midst of nature”

-- Frank Lloyd Wright --
